The conference was held on Tuesday 14 July 2015 at the National Motorcycle Museum, West Midlands, and myGRaCE had a stall to demonstrate the new self-assessment version of GRiST. It was a great day out and "an exciting opportunity to share ideas about recovery in secure services and to influence the development of secure services in the future".
This Oxford-based conference brings together researchers who aim to promote health and wellbeing through improved health services in Europe and around the world.
The GRiST presentation had the title
"Harnessing the power of mental-health risk assessment expertise to create a seamless, evolving partnership between research and the delivery of advice at the point of care".
Abstract
Christopher Buckingham gave two "peace talks" at the Leamington Peace Festival on June 13th and 14th to promote a new community service based on GRiST called myGRaCE. myGRaCE is designed for use directly by the public to identify mental-health problems and point them towards the most appropriate support services.
GRiST will be presented at the Policy-making in the Big Data Era: Opportunities and Challenges 2015 conference taking place in the University of Cambridge from 15-17 June 2015.
A report prepared by Technopolis with the close support of the EPSRC and the Royal Academy of Engineering looked at the impact of university research using the case studies supplied by universities for the recent Research Evaluation Framework (REF). GRiST was one of the studies submitted by Aston University and was given a 4* rating (the highest).
We are very pleased to announce that Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust has signed up to use GRiST across its services. This is also a great opportunity for us to help support Forward Thinking Birmingham that Worcestershire are setting up with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, amongst others, to provide 0-25yrs mental health services in Birmingham.
We have been developing a version of GRiST for forensic services over a number of years and are now pleased to announce that it is available for use. As with all versions, we welcome feedback and they are evolving all the time. The main change to the core GRiST is a new risk of absconding but there are some small additions elsewhere to capture particular issues relating to the forensic population.
We have developed a version of GRiST for learning disabilities that can now be accessed by choosing the learning disabilities option from the drop-down box when launching GRiST. Organisations that access GRiST via their own patient record systems will need to add this option to the list.
We have just presented our myGRiST research at the EACH conference in Amsterdam. The timing was a little awry and we did not manage to get through all the slides.
